Lead Substance Use Outpatient Counselor (LADC)

 

Position Summary:

This position provides leadership to Canvas Health Substance Use Counselors governed by MN DHS Rule 25 and 245G statutes for Substance Use assessment and treatment services.  This position is collaborative in nature and requires working closely with the Substance Use Services Leadership Team. This position requires the building of relationships with internal and external service providers, being sensitive to relationships with child protection workers, Court Services, mental health providers, economic assistance, health care agencies, vocational/educational programs, schools, managed care, outside resources and internal programs at Canvas Health.


Qualifications:

Education/Training

  • Bachelor's degree in human services related field or higher
  • Must hold a valid license for an Alcohol and Drug Counselor from the Board of Behavior Health and Therapy in Minnesota
  • Must be Rule 25 certified

Prior Experience

  • At least five years' experience in the delivery of treatment services for substance use disorders
  • Experience working with Court Services, Social Services and Managed Care networks
  • Experience with Electronic Health Record systems
  • Experience in Telehealth Service Delivery

Must be able to work flexible hours with available evening times with a portion of the work out of the office in family homes, school, and community. Experience with Electronic Health Records preferred.
